Time Management Seminars

Back to Articles

Like anything else that is meaningful in life; it is taken for granted and only till we lose it and its too late do we realise the value of it. It is the same with time. We all have the same amount of time each day but the key lies in how effectively we utilise our time. It doesn’t mean you have to schedule every minute of the day but there are some time saving habits and time management seminars that could dramatically increase your daily productivity. Here are some of the time saving habits that you could develop.

  • Don’t waste your time …
    • Through checking your e-mails constantly throughout the day.
    • Surfing the Internet through browsing from website to another.
    • Personal phone calls during the work day.
    • Unscheduled or unrelated work visits.
    • Organising a cluttered work desk trying to find a place to write down a message.
  • Priorities
Even though your schedule is well organised and practice good working habits there often not time for workers during the day especially small business owners and managers. Therefore it is essential to categorise and prioritise your work activities into Urgent, Very Important, Important and Waste of Time categories. Focus on the Urgent and Very Important tasks, delegating the less important tasks.
  • Understand how you utilise every day
  • Be honest with yourself and evaluate how you spend each day. If you see areas where you are wasting time, commit to spending those times more efficiently.
  • Plan ahead
  • If you have a clear and precise plan for each working day you have a target to aim at instead of wasting time planning what to do and when to do it. It is very important to set daily goals, but also weekly, monthly and annual goals. This will ensure your every minute is spent wisely and effectively.
  • Take time out
Remember that we are only human and to function at the highest level of productivity you need to relax and let your brain reboot. You can do this by giving attention to the less important tasks such as browsing the Internet, phoning a friend; take a coffee break and such other.

Alternatively you could arrange a time management seminar from which your employees can benefit as well. Learn about time management strategies and techniques, and implement them at the work place or even at home. Contact Trevor Ketler for corporate and professional training seminars.
